There are a few important questions you will need to answer before I can get started on your job.

Project Scope

• Is it a copywriting, editing or proofreading job? You may not know what you need yet, but we can work that out together.
• What is the scope of the project? Again, if you're not sure, we can discuss your needs.
• What are you producing? (e.g. a website, corporate brochures etc.)
• Is there a specific number of pages required or a word count?
• What is my role in that process? Will you provide me with all of the information or will I need to seek it out or interview people?
• What is the timeframe for delivery?

Quoting

Once I have an understanding of the project scope, I will provide you with a written quote that factors in reviewing briefing materials, undertaking research if required, writing with one round of revisions and liaison with you throughout the process.

Copywriting: Information gathering

Next, we can delve further into the details that will help me deliver your copy. I will provide you with a template that guides you through this information gathering process to ensure I hit the mark with the copy I write for you.

This briefing process will help me gain an understanding of:

• your business, products and services
• why you're great at what you do
• your communication objectives
• the target audience/customers for this piece
• how you plan to distribute the message
• your brand and company style
• keywords for copy to be search engine optimised (SEO)
• timeframe for drafts and delivery
• resources to refer to or people to speak with or interview.
